MICHAEL DOUBLES UP

Monday April 30, 2018
PETERBOROUGH’S Michael Palm Toft has secured a new doubling-up role in the Premiership.

Palm Toft, who has recently returned to action after a brief absence with an ankle injury, has joined top-flight King’s Lynn for what will be a third spell with the club.

He comes in for the Stars to replace Lewis Rose, who is taking time out of the sport, and is set to make his first appearance in their match at Wolverhampton tonight (Monday).

King’s Lynn boss Dale Allitt said: “From the club’s point of view we had to move quickly and we feel we’ve made a good, solid signing in Michael.

“He’s ridden for the Stars in a couple of seasons previously and he made a good impression when we brought him in for the second half of last year.”

It’s already Palm Toft’s second Premiership club of the season after his short stint with Leicester ended without any matches being completed.

He had to be stood down from that position when the Lions had to make a second team change to be within the points limit after replacing the injured Martin Vaculik with former Panthers star Kenneth Bjerre at No.1.

Meanwhile Palm Toft will be back in the Panthers’ team for the Championship trip to Sheffield on Thursday, but there is a doubt over Ulrich Ostgeraard who crashed when guesting at Berwick last Saturday and suffered shoulder injuries.

Panthers retain priority on Palm Toft's services should any fixture clashes arise later in the season.
