NUMBER one Jack Holder has issued a public thank-you to Peterborough chiefs.

The 'T Balfe Construction' Panthers management have given Holder the green light to race in Poland tomorrow rather than in the SGB Championship Fours.

Promoter Ged Rathbone insists it is the correct call to allow the terrific 21-year-old talent to gain experience against the finest riders in the world. He could also race in a couple of further meetings over there in the coming weeks.

And it's a gesture which is hugely appreciated by Holder - even though he accepts there will be a backlash.

Holder said: "Ged and the rest of the Peterborough management are all great people.

"I'm so happy I made the decision to join the club in the winter and everyone can see how much I've progressed while a Peterborough rider.

"The opportunity has now come up for me to test myself in Poland and that's something I feel I need to do to continue my development.

"Myself and Ged both know we're going to get a lot of stick, but I can only thank him for backing me.

"I'm not turning my back on Peterborough or anything like that. I'll still be racing regularly for the club and trying to score as many points as I can to help us win meetings.

"It doesn't look like we'll make the play-offs, but we've still got the KO Cup to go after and we'd all love to win that for Ged and the fans."
Holder will return to the Panthers' line-up when they go to Edinburgh in the SGB Championship on Friday.
